Northwest entrance to Hilger’s Gulch in Pierre to be temporarily closed

Beginning Monday (May 2, 2022), the northwest entrance to Hilger’s Gulch in Pierre will be temporarily closed.

The state Bureau of Administration will be doing a maintenance and repair project on the winding path leading up to North Evans Street from Hilger’s Gulch. The switchback path will be closed for approximately one month while crews replace failing retaining walls and concrete sidewalk. All other entrances and paths will remain open and usable during construction.
