CHAMBERLAIN – Brookings angler Austin Earley leads after the first day of the National Walleye Tour event on Lake Francis Case.
Earley reeled in five walleye on Thursday with a combined weight of 18.85 pounds. One of the walleyes caught by Earley measured 31 inches and weighed just over 11 pounds.
Cody Northrop of South Heart, North Dakota is second. Matt West of Langford is fourth. Jeremy Coon of Wolsey stands fifth. Dustin Kjelden of Brookings stands sixth. Kimball’s Lee Pulse is in ninth. Troy Lorensen of Oacoma is 10th.
The tournament is set to conclude on Friday. The angler who catches the most weight of walleye through the two-day event will win over $100,000 and a new Ranger fishing boat.
