APRIL 2022:
A Black Hawk man convicted of Criminal Contempt was sentenced by a U.S. District Court Judge.
Alan Frederick Dillon, age 56, must spend six months in federal prison and pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $10.
The conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on May 16, 2019, in Pierre, South Dakota, in which Dillon willfully and unlawfully failed to appear for a court hearing to which he was summoned.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Rapid City Police Department.
Dillon was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
NOVEMBER 2021:
A Black Hawk man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Criminal Contempt.
56 year old Alan Frederick Dillon pled not guilty.
The Indictment alleges that on or about May 16, 2019, Dillon willfully and unlawfully failed to appear for a court hearing at which he was summoned to in Pierre.
The maximum penalty if convicted is up six months in federal prison and/or a $1,000 fine, and $25 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
The investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Dillon was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial. A trial date has not been set.
