David Natvig, the director of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for state Attorney General.
Natvig, the former Brule County State’s Attorney, was chosen to lead the DCI in 2018 by current Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg, who will face a State Senate impeachment trial in June.
Natvig made the announcement on Facebook and said that he is a leader.
Natvig also focused on fighting illegal drugs.
Natvig joins Ravnsborg and former Attorney General Marty Jackley in running for the office. Republicans will select from among the three in their state convention in Watertown in June.
