The US Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service will be conducting a National Environmental Policy Act analysis of activities proposed under the Fishing Access Project. The project area encompasses the entirety of the Fort Pierre National Grassland in Jones, Lyman and Stanley Counties, South Dakota.
The Fishing Access Project would authorize: 1) installing boat ramps and earthen fishing piers, 2) rerouting existing roads for better access and resource protection, 3) shortening two existing Forest Service Roads and opening one new road, 4) clarifying existing road end points, and 5) installing new fences and changing existing fences.
