A 39 year old man from Canon City, Colorado, convicted of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person has received his punishment from a federal judge in South Dakota.
Jeremiah Edward Haning was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

Haning had previously been convicted of a felony in Colorado and knew he could not possess firearms. Further, at the time he possessed the gun, he was addicted to methamphetamine.
