Firefighters in Wall, SD, responded to a reported structure fire in the 500 block of Main Street at approximately 9pm MT last night (June 20, 2022).
Information from the Wall Volunteer Fire Department says first arriving firefighters found a free burning fire with a heavy smoke condition with fire extending into the roof assembly of commercial structure with residential occupancy, and immediately struck a second alarm. Eventually the fire went to multiple alarms. Firefighters from a multi-county area, worked for several hours to contain the fire to the structure of origin. As of the time of this release, it is anticipated firefighters will remain on scene for several days.
The Black Hills Fire Chaplains Association is assisting the occupants. No injuries to civilians, firefighters or domestic animals were reported.
