MINOT, ND – Post 8’s offense was limited to two hits Sunday by pitcher Jack Schafer in a 3-1 loss to Brainerd (MN) in the Eights’ final game of the Justin Demary Memorial Tournament at Corbett Field.
Brainerd scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings. Post 8 (9-13) didn’t have a hit until a two-out single in the fifth by Brecken Krueger. Isaac Polak drove in the Eights’ lone run with a seventh-inning single with one out. Then, a fielder’s choice produced the second out before George Stalley grounded out to end the game.
Bennett Dean pitched Post 8’s second straight complete game, allowing 10 hits.
