JUNE 2022:
A 29 year old man from Mobridge convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine has been sentenced in federal court.
Spencer Jacob Rinehart must spend 60 months in federal prison, five years of supervised release, a fine in the amount of $1,000, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
Between January 1, 2017, and April 29, 2020, Rinehart knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in Mobridge.
This case was investigated by the Mobridge Police Department, the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Corson County Sheriff’s Office, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services.
APRIL 2021:
A 28 year old man from Mobridge has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Spencer Jacob Rinehart pled not guilty.
Court information alleges between January 1, 2017, and April 29, 2020, Rinehart knowingly conspired with others to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in Mobridge.
The maximum penalty if convicted is 40 years in prison and/or a $5,000,000 fine, a lifetime of supervised release and restitution may be ordered.
The investigation is being conducted by the Mobridge Police Department,
the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Corson County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services.
Rinehart was released on conditions pending trial.
