College Critical Race Theory ban law takes effect today in South Dakota

Today (July 1, 2022), HB 1012, which prevents mandatory Critical Race Theory trainings and orientations in South Dakota colleges, takes effect.

Since signing the bill, Governor Kristi Noem has also signed Executive Order 2022-02, which restricts Critical Race Theory teachings at the K-12 level.
