Holly Wade started work last week as the new executive director of the Capital Area United Way (CAUW).
Wade, who is from Hemingford, NE, recently moved to Pierre and replaces MaxStrat, which resigned leadership of the organization effective Aug. 12, 2022. Wade is working with MaxStrat on the transition and has already attended her first board meeting.
Wade says when researching the job and the organization, she knew she wanted to be part of the Capital Area United Way. She says she’s spent her entire career helping people and is passionate about continuing to do that.
CAUW board president Jenny Bernhard says Wade has enthusiasm and passion for the job as well as a desire to help the people of the Pierre-Fort Pierre area. She says the board wanted to have a new executive director in place before the start of the annual fundraising campaign, which officially begins Aug. 11, 2022. The campaign raises funds to help 16 agencies that provide various services to people in Hughes and Stanley counties.
