Vantage Business Park in Huron has been named a Certified Site in the category of Heavy Industrial, by the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (Aug. 2022).
“Congratulations to Huron on this great accomplishment,” said GOED Commissioner Steve Westra. “As communities such as Huron continue to put in this sort of investment, it not only helps grow Huron, but the entire state too.”
With shovel-ready sites available for businesses to begin immediate construction, Huron’s 127 acres offer all the necessary qualifications, putting their community in a more heightened position to land a business deal.
The Greater Huron Development Corporation has spearheaded this achievement. CEO/President Ted Haeder explained that the certified site program is much more than a marketing tool.
“Business prospects recognize the importance of real estate that meets the Certified Site criteria because environmental and cultural reviews virtually eliminate surprises that could potentially derail a project. Having Vantage Business Park listed as a Certified Site allows local industries to expand in a timely fashion and helps market the City of Huron to national and international businesses seeking to relocate or expand,” he said.
GOED’s Certified Site Program offers businesses prequalified sites that are ready for development. Detailed information including price, availability, utilities, access, and environmental assessments can be found at https://sdgoed.com/tools-
GOED’s program is available to all economic development organizations, counties, cities, townships, planning districts, business improvement districts, and developers.
