The Walworth County Commission approved a variance request on the Goldade grain bin construction during their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 20th.
The 2023 final budget was approved as presented, with Commissioner Kevin Holgard the lone “no” vote.
The commission passed a resolution to change the county’s employee insurance renewal date from December 1st to January 1st.
A motion was approved to spend $200 to have the county’s cyber security company run a random phishing test on the courthouse internet.
In light of a statute brought to the board by Sheriff Josh Boll, the commission passed a motion to reimburse $266.25 to Commissioner Duane Mohr for his purchase of a surplus gun from the county.
The commissioners approved posting the Operation Green Light resolution on the county’s website and on Facebook. Operation Green Light encourages the display of green lights in support of veterans November 7th through the 11th.
The commission also approved a motion to apply for a state grant and run advertising for free tire disposal at the landfill October 11th through the 22nd. This will include all counties already hauling to the Walworth County Landfill, but excludes businesses. According to the grant the state will pay 80 percent and the county 20 percent.
