After a variety of delays that caused the Highland Avenue construction project in Pierre to extend into this year, the work is ready to wrap up.
Staff Engineer Nick Waters asked the City Commission to approve a change order and final payment during last night’s (Sept. 20, 2022) commission meeting,
Waters says the project is almost finished.
During the $1.4 million Highland Avenue project in Pierre, a 70-year-old water main was replaced, new curb and gutter was installed and the street received a new asphalt surface.
JUNE 15, 2022:
Due to a variety of delays, the Highland Avenue construction project that started last year (2021) in Pierre was extended into this year.
At last night’s (June 14, 2022) Pierre City Commission meeting, Kyle Kurth with Broz Engineering said because of a few issues, they’re asking to add 18.5 more days onto the contract completion date.
Kurth says one of the issues involves owners having access to their property.
