It’s time for some more Feel Good Friday Stories.
1. Last month, a woman in Denver lost the engagement ring her fiancé gave her before he passed away a while back. So she was devastated. But luckily, some dude found it in the mud . . . literally, his first name is Dude. He’s a bartender named Dude Olguin. He gave the ring back and refused a reward. He said he just hopes they’re lifelong friends now. (Here’s a photo.)
2. A dad in Orlando is going viral because he works early, so his kids are still asleep when he leaves the house. But every day, he draws them each a picture for their lunch, just so they’ll think of him and know he’s thinking about them too.
3. A woman in Georgia got lunch at a KFC drive-thru last week. And when she got back to work, she found more than $500 in the bag. There was an envelope under her sandwich with $543 in it. But instead of keeping it, she turned it in. It turned out a worker accidentally put a daily deposit in the wrong bag by mistake. They refunded her lunch and gave her another free meal to say thanks. The manager said she probably saved his job.
4. Firefighters in Peru navigated their way around several power cables to rescue a kitten stuck on top of a utility pole.
5. Is this the best landlord ever? A woman in Virginia had new tenants moving in and fully stocked their kitchen, so they wouldn’t have to worry about it. She put essentials like eggs and milk in the fridge, and even a few non-essentials like two pies. She also left snacks out on the counter, along with a bottle of wine, and a laundry basket full of cleaning supplies. (Here are the photos.)
6. A Cleveland auto mechanic went back to school and became a doctor at age 51. His name is Dr. Carl Allamby. He graduated from med school in 2019 but just got his first job as an attending physician in an E.R. He says everyone has stuff holding them back, but his philosophy is, “If you want it, go after it. Don’t give up.”
7. A grocery store chain in Michigan called SpartanNash just broke a world record and helped out a charity in the process. They used 5,791 packaged food items to spell out their name, so you could read it from above. It was 150 feet wide. They donated all of the food to a food bank in Grand Rapids. (Here’s a photo.)
8. A family in New York moved to a new neighborhood, and their cat went missing two weeks later. So they thought she was lost and wouldn’t come back . . . until she showed up four days later and activated their Ring doorbell. They say now that she figured out how it works, she uses it every time she wants in.
9. A home in Providence, Rhode Island caught fire last Friday. But luckily, it’s right across the street from a fire station. So firefighters got there VERY fast to put it out, and no one was hurt.
