South Dakota students and families are now able to access a new, online tutoring program, staffed by college students who are preparing to become teachers.
Secretary of Education Tiffany Sanderson says the Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program offers free online help to K-12 students across the state.
Sanderson says tutors provide support for English/language arts, math, science and social studies courses.
Sanderson says once a student is registered, tutoring sessions can either be pre-scheduled or on-demand, depending on tutor availability. She says the service will not be available on holidays and during Christmas and spring breaks.
The Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program is administered by the South Dakota Board of Regents and funded by the South Dakota Department of Education.
Questions about this program should be directed to onlinetutoring@sdbor.edu.
