UNDATED (AP)- A week after taking heavy criticism for not protecting quarterbacks enough the NFL was roundy criticized in Week 5 for treating them with kid gloves. Debatable roughing the passer penalties negated sacks on Tom Brady on Sunday (Oct. 9, 2022) and Derek Carr on Monday night and sent referees scrambling to explain their calls. Several current and former players weighed in on the calls and suggested the league has got to do something to rein in referees making these calls at crucial moments in games.
