The US Army Corps of Engineers will hold its annual fall public meeting today (Oct. 25, 2022) in Fort Pierre to update the region on current conditions.
Corps officials will provide an update on this year’s runoff and reservoir operations as well as planned operations for the next year’s runoff season.
The Oahe Reservoir meeting is at 10am CDT at the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center in Fort Pierre (210 Verendrye Drive).
In mid-September, the US Army Corps posted the draft 2022-23 Annual Operating Plan for the Missouri River basin on its website. The comment period on the draft plan is open through Nov. 23, 2022.
Public meetings are held each spring and fall across the Missouri River basin. Other meetings will be held in Fort Peck, Montana; Bismarck, North Dakota; Sioux City, Iowa; Smithville, Missouri; and Nebraska City, Nebraska.
