Herreid-Selby Area has been one of the most dominant teams in northern South Dakota regarding nine-man football. Now, a former wolverine is finding success at the division one level. Emmit Bohle (BOH-LEE) is a 2017 graduate from Selby and is currently the second-string left tackle for Arizona State University. Bohle says this journey has been rewarding.
Bohle was originally a tight end in high school and was named to the 9A all-state team in his senior season, where he tailed 28 receptions for 387 and three touchdowns. After high school, Bohle committed to Northern State University in Aberdeen, where he became an offensive lineman. Bohle quickly emerged as a dominant force at the Division II level earning Second Team all NSIC in 2021. However, Bohle adds it took a lot of work to get to where he is today.
Currently, the Sun Devils are sitting at 3-5 overall and are coming off a 42-34 win over Colorado. However, Bohle has an important message for the current Herreid-Selby Area football team.
Bohle still has one year of eligibility remaining after this season. The Herreid-Selby Wolverines will be in action on Friday in the 9B State Semifinals. You can listen on KMLO or through drgnews.com, or on the mobile app.
