FULL STORY: To absolutely no one’s surprise, Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” had a MASSIVE debut week.
It sold almost 1.6 million copies, which is the most albums sold in a week since Adele moved 3.5 million copies of “25” back in December of 2015.
Obviously, “Midnights” is the #1 album on the Billboard 200. It also broke 73 records around the world.
It made Taylor the only artist to have five albums debut with more than a million units sold in their first week.
It sold 575,000 copies on vinyl, which is the largest week for any album since tracking began in 1991.
It broke Spotify’s records for most global streams in a five-day period and most single day streams.
The song “Anti-Hero” broke the record for most song streams on the global Spotify chart, with 17.4 million.
