DECEMBER 19, 2022:
Pierre’s snow removal team has plowed the alleys, and removed the windrows from most of Euclid Avenue and Pierre Street. Additionally, the team salted the streets today to help mitigate icy conditions. They will continue hauling snow today. Motorists are reminded that icy conditions remain. Please drive with caution.
Both runways are now open at the Pierre Airport.
Pierre’s baling facility and landfill are open; City trash collection will resume on Tuesday where conditions allow.
DECEMBER 18, 2022:
All residential streets in Pierre have been plowed. Today (Dec. 18, 2022), the snow removal team will begin hauling windrows from Euclid Avenue and Pierre Street and begin alley plowing. Motorists are reminded that icy conditions remain. Please drive with caution.
The Pierre Airport has reopened its primary runway and continues to work on its secondary one.
Rawlins Municipal Library is open Sunday with normal weekend hours.

The emergency snow alert is STILL IN EFFECT in Fort Pierre. Vehicles CANNOT be parked on emergency snow routes until further notice.
Also, anyone whose property has a gas meter should check to be sure their meter or meters are free of snow. Brush them off and remove snow from around them. The weight of built up snow can cause the piping to snap and the regulators can plug up.

The emergency snow declaration in Pierre is over; vehicles can park on emergency snow routes. Crews will first make streets passable and will then come back to haul the snow away. Motorists are reminded that even as snow is removed, icy conditions remain. Please drive with caution.
