A South Dakota man wanted for a sex offender violation in South Dakota, was located in Nebraska on Sunday (Jan. 15, 2023). Officers from the Bellevue Police Department responded to Walmart on Sunday morning in an effort to locate 44-year-old Jeremy Ammerman. The South Dakota Sex Offender Registry lists Sioux Falls as his residence. Officers found him in the parking lot sitting inside a vehicle. Ammerman fled and police did not pursue. A woman outside of the vehicle was taken into custody for controlled substance and drug paraphernalia possession. The vehicle was found unoccupied. Authorities notified area businesses, showing a photo of the suspect. One of the businesses would contact police later having seen him. Ammerman was located in a field and taken into custody. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries not sustained during the incident. He will be booked upon release for drug charges, fleeing to avoid arrest, reckless driving, and his warrant in South Dakota.
