FEBRUARY 10, 2023:
South Dakota Department of Transportation snowplows have been getting a workout this winter, including the newly named “Little Plow on the Prairie” based in Pierre.
Sarah Wellner of Pierre submitted the name in the SDDOT’s naming contest and got to meet the plow yesterday (Feb. 9, 2023).
Wellner talks about how she found out her submission had won.
This year’s contest received over 650 entries from individuals, families, elementary classrooms, senior living centers and businesses across the entire state. SDDOT staff then voted on the submissions.
