MARCH 13, 2023:
A Custer woman has been identified as the person who died last Wednesday night (March 8, 2023) in a one-vehicle crash seven miles southeast of Hot Springs.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates that a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was northbound on U.S. Highway 18 when it left the roadway, entered the median, and rolled.
Michelle Gudeta, the 30-year-old driver, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. She was transferred by ambulance to the Fall River Health Services in Hot Springs where she later died.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
