ABERDEEN – De Smet played strong defense Friday in a 46-31 semifinal win over Aberdeen Christian in the SDHSAA Boys Class B State Basketball Tournament at Northern State University’s Barnett Center.
The Bulldogs held the Knights to 28% field goal shooting.
De Smet will try on Saturday to become the first team since Webster from 1946-48 to win three straight Class B championships.
Lower Brule will meet De Smet for the championship for the second straight year. The Sioux held White River without a point for over five minutes in the fourth quarter in defeating the Tigers 57-49.

Kadyn Fast and George Jensen each scored 11 points for De Smet (22-3), who will play in a championship game for the fourth straight time. Damon Wilkinson scored nine and had 16 rebounds.
Malek Wieker scored nine for Aberdeen Christian (22-3).
Consolation
Castlewood 59, Faith 49
Castlewood (19-6) maintained a double-digit lead through most of the second half. Lane Tvedt and Joe Decker each tallied 13 for the Warriors, with Bryon Laue adding 10 points and 17 rebounds.
Jackson Schauer had 22 points for Faith (22-3).
Viborg-Hurley 56, Ethan 42
Gage Goettertz and Kobee Sherman each scored 20 for Viborg-Hurley (21-4), who trailed by a point at halftime, then outscored Faith 27-12 in the second half.
Riley Endres had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Rustlers (20-5).
