The South Dakota Specialty Producers Association and the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service are hosting a two day, multi-state conference focused on producer education and small production operations today and tomorrow (March 21-22, 2023) in Fort Pierre.
Specialty Producers Project Coordinator Casey Burrus says while specialty crops are a small segment of the state’s ag industry, interest in niche agriculture is increasing.
Burrus says the Upper Midwest Urban and Rural Ag Innovation Conference is bringing together knowledgeable leaders on a variety of topics.
Subjects being covered during the conference include soil health, specialty crop production, livestock management and rural and urban agriculture.
