WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – Team South Dakota’s 16-and-under boys team lost its first pool play game Thursday in the USA Hockey Tier II 16U 2A National Tournament 3-2 to Vermont St. Pat’s.
Team South Dakota, which features the Oahe Capitals’ Jarron Beck, led 2-0 on first-period goals by Alexander Chan and Jaxon Danielson. The Vermont team tied the game with two second-period goals, then won on a power-play goal by Brody Rassel with 53 seconds left.
Beck did not score a point.
Team South Dakota will play its second pool play game Friday against Atlanta Fire (GA).
