South Dakota egg production in March 2023 just over half what it was in March 2022

All layers in South Dakota during March 2023 totaled 1.23 million, down from 1.91 million the previous year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

South Dakota egg production during March totaled 28.1 million eggs, down from 51.1 million in 2022.

March egg production per 100 layers was 2,285 eggs, compared to 2,682 eggs in 2022.
