PIERRE – Relentless offense led to the most lopsided win in the short history of Pierre Governor Softball.
The Governors scored seven runs in the first inning Tuesday on their way to a 15-0 win by run rule in only three innings against Aberdeen Central at T.F. Riggs High School.
Erin Leiferman had a two-run double in that big first inning and a two-run single in a four-run second inning. She allowed two hits and struck out four for the pitching win.
Kara Weiss singled, doubled, tripled and drove in three runs for Pierre (2-6). Noel Kist and Khalan Smart each drove in two. Erin Broers also drove in a run.
Pierre outhit Aberdeen Central 14-2.
