Kienholz, Zabel Make Baseball All-State; 7 Governors Named To Academic All-State Team

SIOUX FALLS – Pierre Governors Lincoln Kienholz and Jett Zabel were named to the Class A All-State teams of the South Dakota High School Baseball Association.

Senior pitcher and shortstop Kienholz, who has thrown a no-hitter this season, was named to the first team.  Zabel, an outfielder and designated hitter, made the second team.

Kienholz was also among the seven Governor seniors making the Class A Academic All-State Team.  Also honored are Brecken Krueger, Deegan Houska, Jack Merkwan, Jackson Edman, Jayden Wiebe and Jonny Lyons.  To qualify for the academic all-state team, a player must be a senior and have a GPA of at least 3.5.
