HIGHLIGHTS: A poll found Florida golfers drink the most beer . . . 4.8 beers per 18 holes. Then it’s Texas at 4.6, and North Carolina and New Mexico at 4.3.
FULL STORY: There’s been a huge boom in golf since the pandemic . . . maybe because it’s one of the only sports people play HAMMERED.
Someone polled 1,500 golfers across the U.S. to find out which states drink the most beer while pretending they’re being “athletic.”
In first place is . . . FLORIDA, where the average golfer drinks 4.8 beers per 18 holes. (We’re guessing that’s partly because it’s a vacation spot . . . and partly because it’s Florida.)
Texas is next at 4.6 . . . then North Carolina and New Mexico at 4.3 . . . and a three-way tie for fifth: Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Missouri at 4.2 beers a round.
Golfers in Utah drink the least, just 1.1. Then it’s Massachusetts, 1.6 . . . Vermont, 1.6 . . . Nebraska, 1.7 . . . and Washington, 1.7.
Minnesota, Georgia, and California are right around the mid-point at 3.5 per round.
They also polled golfers in the U.K. where golfing while buzzed ISN’T all that common, apparently. The average is less than half-a-beer per round. So, most golfers across the pond aren’t drinking, at least not on the course.
