PIERRE – What had been a great start Saturday for Pierre Governor Volleyball turned into another five-set match and a frustrating loss.
Brandon Valley rallied from two sets down to defeat the Governors Saturday at Riggs High Gym 19-25, 19-25, 29-27, 25-14, 15-7.
Brandon Valley (5-10) had 19 kills from Jersie Melcher, 13 kills from Jayaunna Stroh and 12 kills and three blocks from Abby Gruber.
For Pierre (8-4), Campbell Boddicker had 16 kills. Abby Kropp registered 11 kills. Reese Terwilliger, Campbell Cronin and Makayla Sherwood each had four blocks. Aleise Christopherson had 38 assists and went over the 1,000-assist mark for her career.
