The South Dakota Bureau of Information & Telecommunications (BIT) has been named a 2023 State Government Experience Award recipient by the Center for Digital Government (CDG) for its work on the South Dakota Citizen Portal, SD.gov.
“We want to make it easy to do business with South Dakota. That’s why two years ago, I challenged my team to create a portal that would serve as a launch point for the services that our citizens regularly access,” said Governor Kristi Noem. “Today, South Dakota is leading the entire nation when it comes to citizen-focused digital government. I am proud that the BIT is being recognized for the hard work they put in to create the South Dakota Citizen Portal.”
The South Dakota Citizen Portal allows citizens to access all state agency services and maintain the records for services received in one convenient location. Citizens simply have to create their own accounts.
“We are deeply honored to receive this award. It underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional digital experiences and streamlines access to government services for the citizens of South Dakota,” said BIT Commissioner Jeff Clines.
Each year, the CDG recognizes government entities that raise the bar on their digital platforms, revamping and strengthening the way citizens interact during an era when timely governmental information has never been more critical.
Top government jurisdictions, agencies, and departments were honored during the virtual GovX Summit in September.
