Red Ribbon Week is the end of October and a special event is being organized for the entire region. It’s a “Walk to Remember” to raise awareness of all the local loved ones that have died from drug abuse, alcohol abuse, drunk driving, violence or suicide. Wana Kikta Pe/Po! (It’s time to wake up everyone!)
The public is invited to attend the Walk anytime between 2pm-7pm Mtn Time on Thursday, October 26 at the McLaughlin School Elementary gym. There will be luminarias available for anyone to decorate as a memorial. Resources will also be offered with helpful information, support, or guidance. Bring family and friends to come together so this event will be powerful and impactful to inspire all students but also communities to be brave, happy, healthy and substance-free.
To have a deceased loved one included in the slideshow that will play throughout the Walk, please submit their name, age at date of death, cause of death, and a photo to CAG57642@gmail.com by October 25.
