South Dakota State University Extension will host some off-season Garden Hour webinars.
Perfect for home gardeners, Master Gardeners and anyone interested in plants, Garden Hour features an SDSU Extension horticulture team member hosting a speaker and panel of experts who give short, topical presentations and answer audience questions.
The regular season typically runs weekly from May to August. The off-season webinars take place every other month, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT. The remaining dates are Dec. 5, Feb. 13 and April 2. They are free to attend.
“We had a great group of regular viewers join us for the regular season, and we hope to see many of them again and answer their questions during our off-season series,” said Amanda Bachmann, SDSU Extension Pesticide Education and Urban Entomology Field Specialist.
Bachmann said the off-season Garden Hour webinars are seasonally focused, starting with produce storage and end-of-season care in October and tips on holiday plants and Christmas trees in December. The spring will include Master Gardener training and updates from McCrory Gardens in Brookings, South Dakota.
People can submit questions any time via the Ask Extension widget, and hosts will answer them during Garden Hour as time allows.
To register, visit extension.sdstate.edu/events and search “garden”. One signup will register participants for the entire series.
