FULL STORY: If the next presidential election is this close, God help us all . . .
The small town of Rainier, Washington near Seattle had a city council election last month. The two guys running for the seat were Damion Green and Ryan Roth.
So why are we talking about it a month later? Because they had to do a recount after Ryan won by a SINGLE vote. He won 247 to 246.
But here’s why it’s in the news: Damion could have won, but he DIDN’T VOTE FOR HIMSELF. (???) He told a reporter it just fell too “narcissistic.”
It’s not clear if he voted for Ryan, wrote someone else in, or didn’t vote at all. There were six write-in votes.
Ryan says he also thought about not voting for himself, but his WIFE convinced him he should. Without that vote, he and Damion would have tied. The last time the town had a tie, they picked the winner by flipping a coin.
To Damion’s credit, he’s not complaining and says he has no regrets. He plans to run again next time.
