Dakota Wesleyan University’s Pierre Learn & Earn class is collecting donations for Birthright of Pierre through Monday (Dec. 11, 2023).
Birthright of Pierre provides free and confidential services including pregnancy testing, medical, housing, social services and counseling referrals, as well as maternity and baby items.
Jessica Carr, Learn & Earn Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Business, says the students unanimously selected Birthright as the organization they’d like to conduct a donation drive to benefit. She says it has been exciting to see the enthusiasm of the students conducting this donation drive, as well as the response from area residents.
Donations requested include baby and toddler pajamas up to size 5, children’s hats and gloves, children’s socks, diapers and wipes and infant or children’s blankets.
Donation boxes are located at the following businesses: Beck Motors Company, Oahe Federal Credit Union, Burger King, Capital City Ford, Lincoln, & Toyota, TMA, The Alley, Kris’ Glam Closet, Guadalajara, Children’s Castle, State Health Lab, Anderson, Nill, & Associates, MoJoz, Slumberland, Hughes County Courthouse, Pet Pros Grooming Inc. and Brosz Engineering.
An additional donation box will be located at DWU’s satellite campus located in the Capital City Campus building at 925 E. Sioux Avenue in Pierre.
