The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development has awarded over $8.3 million in Community Development Block Grants to fund projects across South Dakota– including in Mobridge and Winner.
Mobridge will use a $1.02-million grant to assist with a wastewater improvement project.
Kimball will use a $770,000 grant to assist with its Main Street infrastructure project.
The CDBG program provides funding to local governments to complete projects that improve living conditions. The program is funded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by GOED.
CDBG awards include the following:
- The city of Mobridge will use a $1,020,000 grant to assist with a wastewater improvement project.
- The city of Kimball will use a $770,000 grant to assist with the Main Street infrastructure project.
- Brookings County will use a $1,020,000 grant to assist with the Brookings Behavioral Health and Wellness Facility project.
- The city of Lake Norden will use a $1,515,000 urgent need grant to assist with a firehall reconstruction project.
- The city of Lead will use $503,019 in additional funds to assist with the utility improvement projects.
- Moody County will use a $1,020,000 grant to assist with the Boys and Girls Club of Moody County project.
- The city of Vermillion will use a $500,000 grant to assist with an infrastructure project.
- The city of Whitewood will use a $1,020,000 grant to assist with the wastewater treatment facility improvement project.
