Residential projects in Fort Pierre and Pierre are among the recipients of the latest distribution of Housing Infrastructure Financing Program dollars from the South Dakota Housing Board of Commissioners.
This week’s (Jan. 16, 2024) awarding of $10.6 million will assist with 10 housing infrastructure projects, many of which are in Sioux Falls or Rapid City.
The Stanley Townsite development planned for along Waldron Street in Fort Pierre was given $705,000. The project consists of infrastructure development for 25 single family lots and one multifamily lot that will provide eight multifamily housing units.
In Pierre, Abbey Road Apartments got $522,435. The project consists of infrastructure development for 115 multifamily units.
To date, South Dakota Housing has received 95 applications for this particular program. The requests total approximately $139 million of the $198 million that is available. So far, just over $106.6 million has been awarded to 67 projects.
