South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will release her second book later this year. “No Going Back,” slated to come out in May 2024 – will offer Gov. Kristi Noem’s perspective on “what’s wrong with politics and how we move America forward,” the book’s subtitle says.
News of its release became public Wednesday morning (Jan. 31, 2024) when former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social media platform to laud the Republican governor’s new work.
“A great new book by Governor Kristi Noem, is a hard hitting story of a very interesting life,” Trump wrote to the social media platform.
Noem’s first book, an autobiography called “Not My First Rodeo: Lessons from the Heartland,” was published in 2022. It became a New York Times bestseller.
“Not Going Back” appears to take a more philosophical approach to her career in politics – a description for the book online says that Noem will “name names” from the “front lines of the battle.”
“Governor Noem explains how the country is not going back to the Republican Party of the 2000s,” the description says. “And that’s a good thing.”
The book and its endorsement from Trump comes as speculation mounts that Noem will be the former president’s running mate should he secure the GOP nomination in this year’s presidential election. Noem has previously indicated that she would “consider” becoming Trump’s running mate if asked.
