The Oahe Hockey Association and Dairy Queen in Pierre are partnering on a new promotion to support the “Capitalize on the Future” fundraising campaign.
Capitalize on the Future President Nick Marso says each Wednesday night from 5-8pm will be “Oahe Hockey Night,” with 10% of sales at the Pierre Dairy Queen (519 West Sioux Avenue) going to support infrastructure upgrades to improve opportunities for youth in central South Dakota.
“We appreciate Lonnie Heier’s support of this fundraising campaign. We’ve had a strong start to our fundraising and appreciate the support – like this – from our local businesses, so grab a Blizzard or a meal and help support Oahe Hockey.”
Starting in 2022, the Oahe Hockey Association began a multi-year, $5 million capital campaign to make improvements to the Ice Barn practice facility, as well as the Expo Center in Fort Pierre. To date, more than $1-million has been raised.
“Dairy Queen is proud to support Oahe Hockey in Pierre and Ft. Pierre,” said owner Lonnie Heier. “Youth activities are an integral part of our communities and help make them great places to live and work.”
Oahe Hockey Night at the Pierre Dairy Queen is an ongoing promotion that will continue each Wednesday night from 5pm to 8pm for the coming months.
