FT.PIERRE, S.D. – The Oahe Capitals Boys Varsity Hockey team bounced back from their loss at Rushmore on Friday night with a pair of victories over the Yankton Miracle on Saturday and Sunday in Fort Pierre. The Capitals downed the Miracle 5-3 on Saturday. The two teams had a back and fourth opening period with Oahe getting four goals and Yankton a pair. Jarron Beck, Dylan Dodson, Aiden Dozark and Devon Dodson finding the net. Dozark picked up his second goal in the third period to close out the scoring. The Capitals outshot the Miracle 44-14 on goal with netminder Spencer Anderson picking up 11 saves.

The Capitals came back on Sunday for an 8-4 victory to complete the weekend sweep. Oahe started strong once again scoring 4 goals in the first period taking a 4-1 lead into the first intermission. The Capitals built a 6-1 lead after 2 before adding a pair of goals in the final stanza for the victory. Devin and Dylan Dodson each had two goals apiece while Grayson Hunsley, Beck, Dozark and Barrett Schweitzer found the net for Oahe in the win while Anderson and Jason Jungwirth tamed to make 14 saves.

The Capitals moved into fifth place with the two wins over the weekend and are 11-6-1 in league play with 24 points. The Capitals return to action on Friday when they travel to Brookings to face the Rangers.
