FEBRUARY 24, 2024:
FT. PIERRE, S.D. – The Oahe Capitals Boys Varsity Hockey team battled Brookings and led for a portion of the first period Friday night (Feb. 23, 2024) in Ft. Pierre. But the Rangers asserted themselves in the final two periods to record a 4-1 victory over the Capitals on Friday night. Dyland Dodson’s goal at 5:11 of the first period game the Capitals a 1-0 lead. But Brookings found the net in the closing minute of the first period on a power play goal and took the lead with another power play goal in the second period. They added two more goals in the final period for the final score. Brookings was aggressive outshooting the Cap’s 35-14 in the game with Spencer Andersen making 31 stops for Oahe. Brookings has a two point lead over Rushmore for the top spot in the Boys Varsity standings while Oahe is 5th in the standings 4 points behind Sioux Falls East with two games left to play in the regular season.

FEBRUARY 23, 2024:
The Oahe Capitals are hosting the Bantam A State Hockey Tournament this weekend (Feb 23-25, 2024) at the Expo Center in Fort Pierre.
Tournament Director Kari Behm says the top eight teams in the state have qualified for the tournament, one of which is the Oahe Capitals who are ranked #5.
Behm says there is an admission fee for spectators and the concession stand will be open.
Behm says Bantam level hockey players are typically 7th, 8th and 9th graders.
