The Mobridge City Council held a special meeting on Monday, February 26th to discuss the funding application for the proposed wastewater treatment plant project. The main point of discussion at the meeting was the impending increase in sewer rates for residents. Mobridge City Finance Officer Heather Beck said the State expects the City to have funds available to re-pay the loan.
Council member Amy Cerney commented that raising rates is something that has to happen in order to get this project done.
The council passed a motion to apply for full funding for the wastewater treatment plant project.
