Drone team being formed to work with Hughes/Stanley County Emergency Management

The Hughes and Stanley County Emergency Management Office now has a drone team.

Director Troy Blevins says there are about eight drone pilots on the team.

Blevins says there are also backup options for the drone team.

Batteries for the drones cost around $475 each, prompting Commissioner Tom Rounds to ask Blevins questions about operating time.

Blevins says depending on how many features it has, a new drone costs around $10,000.
