APRIL 8, 2024:
UNDATED (AP)- Two members of an Idaho white supremacist prison gang are due in court for a preliminary hearing, along with a woman accused of providing a vehicle they used during 36 hours on the run after an escape in an armed ambush at a Boise hospital. Inmate Skylar Meade and Nicholas Umphenour are due in court Monday (April 8, 2024), along with Tia Garcia, who is accused of falsely reporting her car stolen just after the attack. Police say Umphenour opened fire on corrections officers who were transporting Meade from the hospital last month. Meade and Umphenour also are suspected in the deaths of two men in northern Idaho before they were arrested.

UNDATED (AP)- Police say authorities are searching for a white supremacist Idaho prison inmate and an accomplice who fled after the accomplice fired at corrections officers who were transporting the inmate from a Boise hospital. Three corrections officers were shot and wounded early Wednesday (March 20, 2024) in the ambulance bay at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Authorities says the accomplice shot two officers and responding police mistakenly shot a third officer. Police throughout the region were looking for suspected shooter Nicholas Umphenour, as well as the escaped inmate identified as Skylar Meade.
