Seven games into the 2024 MLB regular season, the Minnesota Twins are an underwhelming 3-4. After winning the first two games of the year in Kansas City, the Twins have lost four of their last five.
Even with how many pitchers Minnesota has already lost to injury (currently six on the 15-day injured list), it has been the offense letting the team down. Of the 30 major league teams, the Twins have the worst team batting average (.191), and the fewest home runs (3). In their four losses this season, they have batted a combined woeful 0-for-34 with runners in scoring position.
After losing to division-rival Cleveland in their first two home games, Minnesota had the Sunday game washed-out and rescheduled. The homestand will continue on Monday night for the beginning of a three-game series with the star-studded Los Angeles Dodgers (8-4). In contrast to the Twins offense, the Dodgers have the third-highest team batting average (.279), and have launched an MLB-leading 15 home runs.
