APRIL 19, 2024:
The 17th annual Great Plains all star game was held in White River on Wednesday night (April 17, 2024).
Team Deal, coached by Ryan Deal of 605 Sports, completed a double header sweep over Team Boyle, led by DRG Media Group sportscaster Darren Boyle.
In the girls game, Team Deal opened up a big first quarter lead and ran away with a 79-55 victory over Team Boyle.
Team Deal was led by Pierre’s Reese Terwilliger who scored 19 points. Wall’s Rhea Tucker had 19, and Kamaria Krogman of White River had 11.
Leading Team Boyle was Amia Cottier of Bennet County who scored 14 points. Pierre’s Ryann Berry scored 9 and Kendall Cermak of Highmore-Harrold chipped in 8.
Terwilliger and Cottier were named MVP’s of their respective teams.
Wall’s Nora Dinger won the 3 point shooting contest.
The boys game was a high scoring affair with Team Deal outlasting Team Boyle 137-126.
Team Deal was led by Faith’s Jackson Schauer who poured in 35 points. Evastine Wright of White River and Layne Cotton of Faulkton had 18 points each. White River’s Ray Crow chipped in with 16.
Team Boyle was led by White River’s Nic Marshall who scored 33. Jordan Uhlir of White River had 23 points, while Seth Hamilton of Spearfish and Tage Ortman of Canistota scored 19 points each.
Nic Marshall and Jackson Schauer were named team MVP’s.
Tage Ortman won the 3 point shooting contest, while Kayne Hallow Horn of Pine Ridge won the dunk contest.

APRIL 16, 2024:
Basketball fans in central South Dakota have another opportunity to see some of this year’s seniors on the hardwood Wednesday night (April 17, 2024) during the 17th annual Great Plains Senior All-Star games at the Barnhart gymnasium in White River.
DRG Media Group sportscaster Darren Boyle will coach the boys and girls “Dark” teams while Ryan Deal from 605 Sports will coach the boys and girls “Whites” teams. The girls’ game will tip off at 6pm CT, with the boys game scheduled for 8pm.
There will also be a 3 point shootout for both the boys and girls and a dunk contest for the boys.
Among the players slated to participate are Reese Terwilliger and Ryann Berry from Pierre.
