Lisa Kudrow is finally rewatching “Friends”, but it’s not to celebrate the show’s upcoming 30th anniversary. She wants to keep her memory of Matthew Perry alive.
Lisa says she held off on rewatching it because she felt it was too embarrassing to watch herself. Quote, “But if I make it about Matthew, then that’s OK. And it’s just celebrating how hilarious he was, and that is what I want to remember.”
She says Matthew was uniquely hilarious. Quote, “No one ever knew that cadence or comedic rhythm before him . . . [His] goal was: How many laughs can I get in real life every day? . . .
“So we were always laughing so hard, tears were flying out of our faces . . . I think the world is remembering him the way he wanted to be remembered. I think that’s happening [already].”
(“Friends” premiered September 22nd, 1994. It ended after 10 seasons on May 6th, 2004.)
