The Twins offense has been ripping the cover off the baseball recently and continued that trend last night by beating up on the Diamondbacks 13-6. While there were multiple contributors last night, it was Byron Buxton who has been swinging the hottest bat as of late. Buxton went 3-4 last night with 3 RBI, 3 runs and a homerun, and has been equally impressive in the last 16 games batting .355 (22-for-62) with nine extra-base hits including four homers, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and three steals during that stretch.
While the Twins were lighting up the scoreboard, David Festa was making his major league debut on the mound for Minnesota. Festa got his first ever win with the help of a 13-run cushion, as he gave up seven hits & five runs in 5.0 innings pitched. I am sure not the line he had in mind for his MLB debut, but a win is a win.
The Twins currently sit 7.0 games out of first place behind the Cleveland Guardians who have one of the best records in the league. The Twins will wrap up a western road-trip with three more games against the Seattle Mariners, game one of that series set to get underway tonight a
